A World of Difference: Susie Meister and Sarah Rice

Susie Meister and Sarah Rice of MTV's the Challenge recorded an episode of their top-rated show, the Brain Candy Podcast, for Pitt's International Week. They shared their stories about their experiences filming abroad for MTV as well as their personal globe-trotting adventures.

Whether your passport has stamps from dozens of exotic locations or you've never left the tri-state area, hearing about Susie' and Sarah's shenanigans might just inspire you to pack your bags and hit the road.

Race, Gender and Leadership Series: Perspectives on Africa

Keynote Adress: Empowering Girls to Change the World

Dr. Kakenya Ntaiya - distinguished Pitt alumnus, social activist, feminist and CNN Hero, shared her fearless story of breaking with cultural norms and gendered expectations, actively seeking a college education, advocating for education reform in Kenya, and building a school that is shifting gender expectations in the region.

International Week Contest

Enter the Contest for a chance to win a Study Abroad Scholarship and more amazing prices!


1. Attend International Week events, and prove you were there by:

You need to attend 5 events to be entered in the random drawing for the prizes. If you attend 7 events, you will be entered twice!

2. Submit your completed passport or bring your phone to the Study Abroad Office (802 WPU) for the random drawing.  Deadline is Wednesday, November 2st, 5pm.


3. Voilà! You are entered in the random drawing for all prizes. 

8th Annual East European Festival

Featuring the Pitt Carpathian Ensemble, the 8th Annual East European Festival is an opportunity to experience East European culture and sample regional cuisine!  The Festival is presented by the Center for Russian and East European Studies.

Friday, October 28, 6 pm-8 pm, Posvar Hall Galeria.

Global Trivia

Test your international know-how at the 2nd annual Global Trivia competition. Undergraduate students can register in groups of five on this  link.

The first prize team will receive $1000 study abroad scholarships for each member. The second place team will win Chipotle gift cards and the third place team will receive Dave and Andy's gift cards.

Wednesday, October 26, 9 pm to  10:30 pm, O'Hara Student Center Ballroom.
